Senior Food Program

At Open Hands we give out food to Seniors, 65 and older, in the city of Donna. Our Senior Food Program takes place three times a month, on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Wednesdays from 8:00am-10:30am. On Food Distribution days our Senior Clients receive a full shopping cart of food.

Veterans Food Program

At Open Hands we give out food to U.S. Veterans who live in Pct. 1 in Hidalgo County (Donna, Weslaco, Alamo, Mercedes, Edcouch, Elsa). Our Veterans Food Program takes place once a month, on the 2nd Friday from 8:00am-10:30pm. On Food Distribution days our Veteran Clients receive a full shopping cart of food.

Family Food Program (COMING SOON)

Open Hands plans to add a Family Food Program for families in need in the near future. Please follow us in order to stay informed.

How to Qualify for Food

  • Requirements to Qualify:

    -Over the age of 65

    -Live in Donna, Tx

    -Must have an ID

  • Requirements to Qualify:

    -Must be a US Veteran

    -Live in Hidalgo County Pct.1 (Donna, Weslaco, Alamo, Mercedes, Edcouch, Elsa)

    -Must have a Military ID and Texas ID
